Graphic Design
This 'The Warriors' image was made using multiple layers on photoshop. I started by choosing a photo of one warrior, and using the 'lasso' tool, carefully selecting all of him and then doing the same for the second warrior, this was very time consuming as if you selected one little bit accidentally, you had to start it again. Once this was done, i went through the photos on the Mac to find a background image for the warriors, i decided to choose this beach, as it looks deserted. I then made the warriors smaller to look lifesize on the beach, i placed them opposite eachother so it looks as if they are fighting. I then used the 'shadow' tool on photoshop, which was to create the shadow for each warrior. This was one of the hardest parts of creating this poster as i found it really difficult to get the shape and size right so it looked realistic. I think i have made them the right shape and size but im still not 100% sure if i am happy with them. The next stage was to go onto google and find an image of 'old vintage paper' which was then put behind the background image making it look tea stained and old, rather than a perfectly formed photo. The final stage of creating this poster was to add the text. I chose the colour red as it is bold and easy to see/read against the blue sky, I used a font that looked as if it fitted into the time of 'the warriors'.
We started by editing the image of Megan Fox by putting another face on her to give her the mustache. We also changed the colour of her skin, eyes and cheeks. During this, we learnt what a 'mask' is, which covers the other face we put on hers to give her the mustache. We also used the colouring tool to change the colour of her skin and cheeks. We also used a select tool that we used to select her eyes and to make them a different colour, i chose green. The next task was to create a B movie poster, we practiced by creating the 'The Warriors' poster which taught us how to cut out a person/ object from one photo and place it on another by using a lasso tool on photoshop. This is how i got the little men on the beach in the first image. I also did this to get the insects on to the image of the city. For this our lecturer gave us a title of a made up film and gave us the storyline and told us to make a B movie poster based upon the storyline. To make the background more rustic looking, i added a 'old paper texture' and overlaid it which gave it this effect.
The final thing we were asked to do was to create a mood board about ourselves. I decided to have four different categories- interests, places i have been or want to go to, art that i like and music that i am into. I wanted to make it a very visual piece, so i have used lots of images to make it visually appealing. I have used a black background with a flocked section to the right to make the page more interesting, yet showing a design that i really love. On this section, i have added my name, and the English flag and Italian flag, which represents my nationality.
